Hey guys,

Here is the link to "The Story of Stuff," which we will be presenting on November 20th to the school.

The power point will be about consumerism.

Also, we need to finish up the water bottles. We decided on steel over plastic but we still have not chosen a provider. DECA told us if we do not pick one by the end of the month they will take over the water bottle sales.

We are also proposing a HOV parking idea to the school administrators where car pooling students will be allowed to park in the closer parking lot.

Meeting #1

Here's a quick summary of what went on during our meeting today! (September 15th 2009)

- Intro for our new members:
* What we have done in the past: Created note-pads out of recycled paper, made boxes for recycling to be put into class rooms, & we have sold reusable BPA free water bottles.

- Our goals:
* Elementary school program: educating younger grades about the environment with a powerpoint.
*Recycling program: make new boxes to replace those thrown out.
*New water bottles: we are looking to get metal water bottles with screw on tops, and make them available to ecology club members.
*Ban on water bottles: long term goal.
*Food: promote using locally made bags to bring your lunch in rather than disposable paper bags.

What we did today...
We discussed our possible goals for this year which are listed above. In addition, committees were created. Boxes were made and an outline for the elementary school powerpoint was made.
